Insights

The tone toward Israel in the Arab press is strongly negative — nearly 90% of the articles adopt a negative tone toward Israel.

Approximately 20% of the articles in the official press of the Palestinian Authority that mention Jews contain clear antisemitic content according to the IHRA definitions, which are the standard definition of this term used by the Israeli government and many major Jewish organizations in the diaspora.

The attitude of the Palestinian Authority’s official press toward Hamas is very negative. The attitude toward October 7 is negative because the attack harmed the Palestinian struggle, except for a brief period immediately after the attack during which the attitude toward Hamas was neutral.
